“Sawan ki us ek shaam ko humne ki thi batey mithaas ki,
Aur Peepal ki chaon mey mun ki pyas bujhai thi.
Preet ke sajoy thay sapne jo, do mun ko pas laye thay,
Vishwas aur madhurta ke pankh khud hi humne lagaye thay,
In pankho per hi baith kar humne apni preet jagai hai.
Aaj phir Sawan ki shaam aayi hai,
Jeevan ke madhur chhano ko phir yad kar, hum khud hi ab sharma jate hain.
Lekin Peepal ke komal patton ney humko lajate huwe phir kuchh yadi dilayi hai.
Kuchh khoya kuchh paya, phir bhi is rukhe sansar ka saath nibhaya ,
Apni komal bhavnaon ko hi humne prerna ka shrot banaya,
Aur khud ko hardam anurag aur preet mey sarabor paya.
Sukh dukh ka har chhan jo jiya hai saath saath, wahi hamari dharohar hai,
Aur Saath ho hamara saat janam taq, aisi kamna hai
Isilye tow humne preet aur vishwas ka deep jalaya hai.
Asha aur umaang ka phir din aaya hai.

The great Indian Tamasha of Political circus is now at its peak. Hate speeches, challenges, self praise are all what political parties have for their road shows and it appears that all political parties are confused and have not even tried to convince the voter to vote for them. It is really surprising that the ruling party intead of informing voter about its achievement during last five years, has resorted to adopt an approach to malign BJP image. When the election campaign started congress was rated much ahead of its rival BJP but as we pass through the crucial phase, we find more and more gains for BJP. This is also reflected in the record low muslim voter turnout. Albeit Indian muslims may have beed misfed by Congress for 60 years, the muslim voter also understands that the congress has been doing so not because it wants Muslims to grow and prosper but because congress wants to rule the country at the cost of muslim votes. The equation is simple, Majprity of non muslim voters are divided between BJP and Congress equally and the party who secures Muslim votes forms the government. Congress has been relying on this equation for long but with the slowly developing trust for BJP among muslims, the equation has now changed. BJPs involvement of muslim leaders in its think tank group has also shown some results. Muslims also recognize the strength of Indian constitution and are sure that their future is as safe as any other religion in India and no party can play with the so strong constitution. The muslims of Gujarat have seen the riots but they have also seen the growth and prosperity because Gujarat government and largely the people of Gujarat have secular fabric and this is the reason why BJP has been performing excellent in post riots Gujarat elections. Other political parties may be trying to tell the Gujarati muslims that BJP is pro Hindutva party but the Gujarati Muslims know the reality and that is why there is no muslim anger against BJP in Gujarat.
States like MP, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh have set a bench mark for growth and development and this has happened during the BJP rule and this is why speculations of BJP sweeping these states is true. The surprising results are expected to come from Uttar Pradesh because common man is observing that Mayawati is more interested in creating her own effigies rather than creating public utility infrastructure and facilities. The murder of PWD Engineer and the criminal record of majority of BSP candidates is also working negatively for BSP and its votes are shifting to Congress and BJP. It is expected that almost two third of UP seats will be shared between the two national parties.
Nitish Kumar in Bihar has done a good job and people are appreciating this in the form of support to Nitish Kumar. The number of kidnappings that took place during RJD rule have come down drastically and the crime rate is continuously heading south in Bihar.
All the above factors are a reason for BJP to cheer as it is the main constituent of NDA. If BJP has campaigned for itself, Congress has campaigned, though indirectly, for BJP. Certainly celebration days are ahead for BJP. Credit goes to good governance promises by BJP and blame BJP culture of congress.

During one of the media interaction, Amar Singh said that now Bihar and UP are one. Indeed, the politics of opportunity and low mentality is indeed going to convert UP into another Bihar.
Amar Singh’s first mistake was to declare Sanjay Dutt as candidate for 2009 election and second mistake is joining hands with Lalu Yadav.

Standing near my balcony, I watch people celebrating Eid with fervor and joy. Suddenly my mind takes me down the memory lane and I start thinking about Hameed and Ameena ; Characters in short story “Eidgah” written by Munshi Premchand, a legendary writer and thinker.
Munshi Premchand used to describe human state of mind, living conditions and their feelings in such a heart touching way that reader would find himself as part of the story. This is reflected from the fact that whenever EId comes, I remember this short story “Eidgah.
The story of “Eidgah” deals with bonding between a little child Hameed and his grandmother Ameena. Hameed is an orphan and is poor and this makes his grandmother concerned about him as he plans to go to the Eidgah for prayers followed by visiting mela (fair where people buy sweets, toys etc). Instead of buying sweets and toys, Hameed prefers to spend his Edi on buying a pair of tongs for his grandmother who makes roti ( bread) with hands often resulting in her fingers getting burnt. However, when Hameed reaches home and gives the tongs to his grandmother, he is scolded by her because Grandmother feels that he could not find any better thing to buy out of his Edi. Hameed then tells her Grandmother the reason behind spending his Edi on buying a Chimta is to save her fingers from getting burnt, hearing this the grandmother sobs, breaks down and hugs little Hameed.
I feel this small story is so good and emotional that it must be narrated to little children on Eid day. This will help the new generation to become a good person. I do know how many children are narrated this story by their parents but this could be the best gift to a child on Eid.
Munshi Premchand, though a hindu Kayastha has written this story with so fine details and has injected a real life like situation that shows there were no religious boundaries in old days. The story is simple but gives a strong message to all of us that Eid is a festival of love and giving. However, I think it is difficult to find Hameed in this materialistic world where love, care and affection are words only to be found in dictionary.
This blog is my tribute to Late Munshi Premchand.
Happy Eid to all!

Navratri Pooja started today with the first day devoted to Maa Shailputri. During the first eight days of Navaratri, anna bhog is not offered to Maa. It is only on the ninth day that anna bhog is offered to the deity. Strong devotees of Maa Durga also do not take anna during these eight days. Regular paath of Durga Shapthsati and Pooja is done during this period to secure the blessings of Maa Durga, who always shows kindness to all who are engaged in good deeds.
Our power to see, touch, hear, speak and to eat is all due to blessings of Maa, who is the supreme authority of this universe. She protects not only the creatures on this earth but also Gods in heaven. When the demon Mahisasur took away the rule of Indra and banished the Gods from Heaven to the earth, It was Maa only who killed Mahisasur at the request of Gods thus giving back the Heaven to the Gods.

It is shocking to learn that many Chinese producers of milk and dairy products are mixing toxics and thus producing dairy products adulterated with material like melamine used for making fertilizers and plastics.
Reports suggest at least four infants died in China after consuming the contaminated milk. The adulterated whitener led to several thousands falling sick. It is said that melamine can cause kidney stone and renal failure.
Majority of countries have banned import of Milk and dairy products from China. India also has shown some action in this regard and prohibited the import from China of dairy products including milk and milk products for three months with immediate effect and until further orders. This communique was issued by Directorate General of Foreign Trade through a notification.
It is interesting to note that Government of India has a compartment based thinking and actions. Since the matter was related to Foreign trade, so the Directorate of foreign trade came out and banned the items. However, ministry of health and child welfare is still sleeping and someone need to wake them up from deep slumber, atleast in times of such crisis. Ministry of Health should have asked the Government to recall all Chinese milk & milk products already imported and stocked with stockist and dealers to minimize the damage due to contaminated milk & milk items. Government feels that it has done its bit by banning the items but who is going to control and destroy the stuff which is already imported? Government should have handled this with a simple strategy:
1) Ban all milk & dairy product import from China until the new products pass the test as per Indian standards.
2) Telecast advisory through television or Radio asking the people to discontinue use of Chinese milk or milk product which they may be using.
3) Withdraw all such Chinese food products from the market and destroy them instead of leaving them to stockist who will try their level best to sell off stocked items in areas where people are not not literate.
4) Test other products being imported from China.
5) Conduct spot check for our own such products ( Made in India!) to control our own products.
But our Government has again demonstrated lack of capacity to handle such crisis ( if Government considers this as a crisis at all), poor understanding of the problem and habit of taking only half measures to attack a problem.
I am also surprised with the silence of CSE, UNICEF, CRY and several other NGOs working directly or indirectly for children.
Immature Indian Television media prefers to show nonsense serials spoiling the fabric of Indian culture, traditions and cohesiveness among family members rather than communicating the people about such serious issue.
Comes 14 November and we will celebrate childrens day with all pomp & show forgetting kids who would have succumbed to such contaminated food by that time.

Curiosity takes me to Yahoo news wherein it is reported that Dr.Sam Parnia, a fellow at New York City’s Weill Cornell Medical Center is trying to find out what happens after we die. It is really surprising that the most advanced nation in the world is so ignorant about spirituality and life beyond death. If one really wants to know about happens after death, Hindu scripture “Garuda Purana” ( Book described by Bird Garuna) gives a detailed description of happening after death. I think Hinduism has enough literature which gives an account of life beyond death. I like to mention a resource link to know more about this subject(www.ssrf.org )
Death is define as permanent exit of Prana ( soul) from the body. There are cases that even the organs have stopped working but Prana has not left the body. This cannot be considered as death ( though biological death has occured because organs stopped working). The knowledge about this subject is quite complex and can be ineterpreted in various ways all leading to only one result.
Study by Dr. Sam Parnia is definitely goin to yield results but at what costs and by what time? Instead of trying to establish a formula which already exists, it is better to verify the existing formula to save efforts & resources.

It is really a tragic moment for not only the family of deceased Mr. L K Chaudhary but also for the entire business fraternity of India. The incident is related to death of CEO working with an Italian company Graziano. Dismissed workers have killed the CEO out of frustration. Albeit it need to be seen from workers point of view, however Labour minister issuing statement about this incident as a warning to other management houses is a sign of immaturity as it wll encourage workers to do similar things somewhere else and thus the whole business environment will be polluted. If same logic is applied to recent incidents in Karnataka and Orrisa, the law and order of the whole country will collapse. Whatever be the height of frustration, no person can take law in hand and do what has been done in Noida.
It is surprising that the Minister has planned to go to the site of incident on wednesday but he has adequate info to take side of workers. The minister must understand that one statement issued in an immature way can lead to a crash of the Sensex.
The Labor policy in India is totally out of present day context and need to be reviewed and changed to avoid such incidents in the future. But this is possible only if the Government is fair in conducting its business and policies are made in Government offices rather than inside the corporate offices of big business groups.

Few minutes back I saw the Breaking news on website of Times of India regarding serial blasts in New Delhi and the responsibility has been claimed by SIMI, a terrorist organization, though composed of Muslims, but who do not follow the peaceful Islamic traits.
Few days back a lower court in India has ruled for lifting of ban on SIMI. This decision in favour of SIMI was welcomed by Indian Railway Minister Mr. Lalu Yadav and SP leader Mr. Mulayam Singh not because the ban was unjustified but because both these leaders want to woo the Muslims of India for political gains. However, the Central Government of India realised the motives of SIMI and the threat it poses to nation as a whole and approached the Supreme Court for ban on SIMI to continue. Central Govt succeded and it is that frustration of SIMI leaders which appears to have led to these blasts in New Delhi. It is a shame on Indian politicians who have encouraged such things by taking sides of wrong elements just for the sake of votes.
Very soon, we will see the TV footage of our PM, Home MInister, Leader of political parties condemning the incident and re affirming their commitment to fight terorism. It has become a routine affair. However, nothing concrete happens to be taking place.
18 killed and 19 injured but who cares? We only understand the pain when some close to us becomes the target else business as usual. It is high time that all political parties regardless of their philosophy, must come together to devise some concrete plan to handle this demon in the garb of SIMI like organization. If we do not act swiftly, we will be undoing all our efforts of becoming a real global power.
May wisdom prevail in the minds of our leaders!
